I get a lot of comments on my craft tools and I figured since I had been sharing a collection of things I would add in all my favourite things since people often ask about them. I have to confess I am a tool junkie, all of my spare mad money is scrimped and saved to buy craft tools and supplies.

My number one favourite thing is my Sizzix Big Shot
, this thing pretty much will cut anything and I use it from everything from quilting to jewellery making to cards. Although your are limited to the available dies there are thousands to choose from
, I use this for all my bottle caps, you can turn your ribbon into washi tape and it's great for all those little things.
this thing has had quite a workout, I love this thing it's really great for making things for the kids.

, I know most bloggers who use a digital die cutter have bought the silhouette, but for me the added features of the Zing won me over. You can turn any picture into a cutting file anything you find on the web, photos, ect you can turn into a cutting file. It also embosses and you can even use it to make cake decorations and it engraves metal. It's got a bigger cutting width than any of the other standard cutters and a tiling function which means you can enlarge things as big as you like. If you're wondering why I chose the Big Shot over the Zing, well I just think the Big Shot has more crafting opportunities but each does it's job.

My latest toy,BrotherComputerized Sewing and 4x4 Embroidery Machine 
which was a gift from my Mum, I've only begun to play with it but it is a heap of fun. It comes with heaps of Disney items to embroider and I think I am going to have heaps of fun this year.

Oh Mel...your craft tools are enviable! (Except maybe the last one..you know how I feel about sewing machines.) My favorite craft item probably is Aleenes craft glue. I'm pretty sure I couldn't craft without it. Does glue count as a craft item???
ReplyDeleteYou have a great craft tool hoard, Mel. I don't have any of those things. I have a sewing machine, but only do what I absolutely have to with it. My favorite craft item is probably my Doodle Magic. :)

But let me ask, is the Zing that you have shown above the one that is like the Silhouette only with added features? I'd say your tools are well worth spending on from the results of your projects, Mel. Thanks for sharing.

I have the Silhouette (and love it for what I do) and my family bought me a new, beautiful sewing machine for Christmas...that's about it for power crafting tools. Now power tools...like drills, sanders, etc...we have lots of those I love to play with.

ReplyDeleteI feel rather primitive with my glue gun and scissors. Some of those tools looks like I could lose a hand to them! I'd have to say my favourite tool is a paintbrush. It's not very exciting but you sure can do a lot with one!

ReplyDeleteI've never heard of any of this stuff...except the embroidery machine. And I'm green with envy that you have one and I don't. I've looked at those and love them. Haven't talked Phil (or my credit card) into buying one for me yet.
