So I made my own!
Oreo Truffle Snowmen
Well all I can say, is they were delicious!
I used the recipe from Marigold Mum I followed the direction here exactly, the only difference was I used the golden oreo's and white chocolate instead of the dark ones.
Then instead of shaping them into balls I made snowmen like this.
Dipped them in chocolate and once set I added the the faces using the frosting in a tube - great fr those of us who can't get the hang of icing pipes.
And there we go finished
DIY Delight or Disaster? The recipe is really easy, delicious and no bake so it's perfect for a hot Australian Christmas, it's a pure delight. My snowmen, well lets just say that I have a sister who does professional quality cakes, which means I'm always disappointed because her stuff always looks better. Comparison really is the thief of joy, but I do think they are cute. The kids loved them!
Also Madeleine was not prepared to eat them because they had eyes, it was hilarious then she saw Max scoffing his one down, and took a bite. All I could hear from then on was, "mmm yum yum eyes cake" (anything sweet is cake to her)
Speaking of the kids, the boys are now in the lead so if you haven't voted go here. I've had a few questions as to what the themes of the room will be, it's a surprise, you'll find out when voting closes.

Very cute snowmen!
ReplyDeleteBut if you'd like to make a real one, come on up to Minnesota this winter. I'll help you make one!
We get more than our fair share of snow here (in Chicago), I'd be happy to send you some :). I guess if you don't see much snow, these are a great substitute. What a fun project/snack to make with the kids.
