Woot it's finally done!! Okay so I'm going to gush a bit because I'm in love with this room, but before i do I have to tell you about a little song. Prior to having this room for myself my craft area used to change positions on a regular basis. This of course meant my stuff could be found in every room of the house, therefore Samuel and Julian used to sing the following ditty:
Craft area, craft area, where will you be today?
Sounds innocent enough but became really annoying, really quick, okay onto the room.
First here's the before shots
And now here's what it looks like! Also here is where I hate myself for not having a decent camera or any type of real photography skills.
I hope you all noticed how I vacuumed the floor for you.
DIY Delight or Disaster? The room took a lot longer than I thought, however I'm glad! I'm glad because I learned that patience results in something you love. There were times where I didn't quite have everything I wanted, rather than make do I waited. There were times where I wasn't sure what I wanted, so I waited and I'm so glad I did. Popping into this room brings me so much joy and this room is a result of all the skills I've learned as well as the patience, something I rarely have. Delight!
Craft area, craft area, where will you be today?
Here and I really can't believe it's the same room, and that it's all mine!
So, what do you think?
Thanks for reading,
Mel xo
Wow, Mel ! You pulled it off !! I'm also in love with your craftroom ;-) Now, would you come over and fix mine ? {Excellent color scheme you chose!}
ReplyDeleteOh Mel! That is one awesome room! I would not be easily persuaded to come out of it! I am totally crushing on that lamp and the cool crib organizer. Love the black and white houndstooth table too. Oh heck..I love it all! Now what will Jules and Samuel sing???!!!
ReplyDeleteI must say it is stunning. How wonderful to have everything in one place and soooooo organised! Good job Mel....and like Danni said, they will have to come up with a new song for you! My father in-law used to tell me I had "crafts"...can't remember a flippin thing syndrome! hehe
ReplyDeleteI just sighed he deepest, heaviest sigh Mel. Its absolutely bloody gorgeous! I love it. I know exactly what you mean about your craft space. Mine was "pick a grey shopping bag and hope for the best". You might've found the pins or cotton. I've found myself just sitting at my sewing desk staring. My son came up to me this afternoon and wondered what I was doing. I haven't sewn anything yet. LOL Its only just starting to come together since this last weekend. I can't wait to share it with you.

You've done a great job Mel. Your lamp looks stunning in your craft room and you'll have fun creating in there. I'm going to start planning my craft room because the kitchen table just isn't BIG ENOUGH.
ReplyDeleteI love it..I love all the red accents. Want to come over and finish mine for me.. :) I have to do a lot of crafting on the kitchen table because my craft room is too unorganized to do any in there.. Hopefully that will change soon!
ReplyDeleteYour room looks amazing and wonderful and I'm so jealous of how clean and organized it is. I'm glad hubby doesn't read blogs because I would be getting that ditty every day. Then I'd want to slap someone.
ReplyDeleteWow Mel I am totally loving the craft room! You did such a great job with everything. I want to come over and craft something in there :)

ReplyDeleteMel, it's exceptional... and it's so you! The hounds tooth, the reds, whites and blacks. Your really have an original style and I just love it! What you say about "patience results in something you love", that's poetic and true. Congrats on finishing your craft room ~ Amy
