Howdy All,
I am joining the ever wonderful Amy or While Wearing Heels in a year of self portraits, like most woman, of a certain age, I hate getting in front of the camera. I've stacked on the kg's with the last two babies and nothing frightens me more than public photos.
Here's the thing, my babies one day will want to see their mother, they don't care, that I have some weight to lose or that my skin is marked from growing their massively big baby heads inside me. I'm also not quite prepared to get straight in front of the camera.
So when Amy made the first task A Simple Moment and also pointed out that it could be any part of us, I got to thinking. So here is my most simple daily moment, making my morning cup of tea and waiting to see what the new day will bring.
Thanks for reading
Mel xo

MEL! I love your first self portrait. I love that you are taking your tea in a Melissa mug. It's funny, I have never even thought of you as a Melissa. This is a perfect 'simple moment'. I also love your perspective, making your morning cup of tea, waiting to see what the day will bring. Thank you so much for joining my challenge. I love your first picture and I can't wait to see your others.
ReplyDeletevery sweet picture!
ReplyDeleteA perfect shot to start your year of You, and wonder what the year may bring as well! I hope it is a good one!
ReplyDeleteI love this picture! I think I need to join in on this since I love taking pictures so much.

Love it Mel! I'm with Amy...this is a great perspective, but I forget that your name is Melissa!!! Although lately...I'm thinking of you as Ralph. G'night Ralph!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree...I always think...I am taking a heck of a lot of pictures..but I am not in any of them.
ReplyDeleteRemember that your body reflects that you have created miracles. Next month you can be brave and show your face. :)
ReplyDeleteMel, surely you know that we wouldn't care if we found out you had two heads. Two are better than one anyway. I feel that I know the person and don't really care what shell she walks around in. I just read a quote that said something like, "We don't have a soul, our soul's have a body". Those are beautiful pics! My favourite it the daughter imitating her mom. It says everything about how important this time with your kids will be some day.
ReplyDeleteI actually have a picture of you in my head, and you are beautiful my friend! Plus I saw you on the side bar under "About Mellywood" Cheers.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great picture, Mel, and a great way to start the series. Looking forward to more. My daughter's name is Melissa, but we've always called her Missy.
ReplyDeleteLove that you're a tea drinker Mel! Your Melissa mug is very sweet. Love the butterfly! I agree with Amy, your pic is a perfect simple moment.
ReplyDeleteI like the personalized butterfly cup. Drinking a nice hot beverage in the morning is good for what ails ya, or so my mother always used to say. :)
