Turn your door into a Peg Board

 Morning All,

How much do we as a craft/DIY /blogging community love peg board!

When I asked for ideas on what to do with the wall behind my craft table Anne from Domeblissity, suggested I do a peg board similar to Ros's from Sew Delicious which you can see here. Her's is wonderful and both Anne and I have been lucky enough to see it in person and I suggested that her FIL make me one.

Sadly for me he is busy!

At the beginning of this makeover I wanted to do something with the plain and ugly sliding doors so I started doing a paper "quilt, got to this point and decided I wasn't a fan, but since I had mod podged it on, I was to lazy hadn't got around to removing it.

The door slides right next to my table and I was thinking how great a peg board would be, when I wondered if I could do one on the door, turns out I could.

I bought a some peg board, which was way to wide for the door, and some really cheap pre primed trim so I cut the board to fit and painted the peg board white and the trim red.

Then I got some hooks and began sorting my crap!

DIY Delight or Disaster? Seriously LOVE this, so handy, if I was going to change anything I think I would have mitered the corners, rather than have them straight, otherwise, Delight!

Thanks Anne and Ros for the idea!

Thanks for reading,

Freaking Awesome Friday Features

Hey Guys,

Welcome to this week's Freaking Awesome Features, sorry about the delay I have had a computer melt down, the joys of living with technology. Just click on the pictures to go to the tutorials.

First we pay homage to the Disasters

I don't get this weeks, I actually really like Distressed Donna Down Home's Silvery Shells.

The Feral Turtle, by the way awesome blog name, made this Magic Cake, she thinks it turned out looking like a shoe. Something I really want to try when I get my new oven. The shoe thing doesn't bother me, if it's just us there is no fancy serving at The Mansion!

Now the Delights!

DIY Necklace Pendant from The Thriftiness Miss, so pretty!

Easy Freezer Meals, from Our Pinteresting Family, as soon as my dead oven is replaced I am making some of these!

Grocery List on a Roll, from With A Blast. This is Brilliant, I especially love the Trash Chic element!!

Another Trash Chic project, A Jewelry Organizer from The Thrifty Rebel, I love this, I am doing one myself, now I want to scrap it and scour the thrift stores to copy this.

This Distressed Piece from Kirb Appeal has me excited, I am about to attempt my first try, I'm scared but Kirby assures me the worst thing happens I can always repaint, I see a lot of repainting in my future but ifd they look this great, I'm okay with it!.

Sew Jereli Pj Pants

I made some PJ's for the babies. My lovely friend Toni from Sew Jereli gave the pattern away for free on her blog. Now I will say the pattern is really easy to follow....if you read it.

These are my second attempt, my first attempt happened around the time I had no hot water, so in my defense, I was a little distracted. I cut all of the legs  the same and to make matter worse I had folded the fabric so one pair had the print upside down.

I was devastated and I had a little whinge to Toni about my mistake, which lets be super clear, was in fact ALL my fault. Anyway god bless her, she talked me round and I managed to sew them up, they might be upside down but at least it wasn't a waste of fabric and hey, they're pj's no one else is really going to see them

I don't have a photo of the messed up pairs because the kids really like them and as soon as they're washed they want to wear them so it was a win after all. Madeleine loves her good pair, she call them her baa baa black sleeps, it's very cute!

When I tried again, in a better frame of mind and remembered to read, these turned out gorgeous and I am so delighted, thanks Toni, for the pattern and for all your help, but mostly for not blatantly laughing at me for being such an idiot!

Go check her out, she makes lots of beautiful things for little boys over at Sew Jereli and she is just a lovely person, also grab your free pattern here!

WYPW

Welcome to Wednesday, here's what has been tickling my funny bone this week.

When I was a kid, we camped a lot, there were always kangaroos that were so used to people being about they would come down for a feed, I totally felt like this.

How I feel when friends and family announce their latest pregnancy, I think I have had my fair share of
announcements!

I'm positive that's the look I am getting about 80% of the time.

I drink tea but I appreciate the sentiment!

This one literally had me belly laughing, I used to hate square dancing, I am so glad my high school did not have the technology of today! My poor kids!!

Have a great Wednesday

Triangle Poncho

I know you a lot of you are getting some cooler weather in your part of the world, but even here, as the days warm up, the evenings can get a little chilly, so I made this sweet little poncho for Madeleine.

I'm currently on a huge yarn scrap busting mission. I had one and half balls of the pink yarn and one of the white. To make this I used about a ball of pink and a quarter of the white.

You can make this with any scraps you have lying about, with the easiest pattern, as follows

For the front
Grab your desired size needles and cast on one stitch.
Then at the beginning of every row yarn over to make another stitch and knit to the end
Cast off when you have your desired length.
Repeat for the back

Decide how big you want the head hole and stitch the rest together to form the poncho

Do take note of how many stitches if you plan on changing colours throughout the pattern to ensure the back matches the front.

I made a sweet little felt embellishment using my Big Shot.

DIY Delight of disaster? Delight, I think it's rather sweet and I am slowly getting rid of my HUGE yarn stash.
