Hey Guys,
So I have banned myself from buying anything more from the thrift stores and op shops until I use all the items I have. You might remember this one from a gazillion posts ago but it is one huge frame.
Elizabeth wanted a chalk board and a place to hold her pictures.
I covered the back of the frame in white vinyl, I really love the texture of it and painted up one of those wooden craft signs. I found the ribbon board in Kmart, I could've made one but it was $9 and it probably wasn't much more than what I would have paid in craft supplies. Then I painted the frame.
I wanted to put it above her desk, but she insisted she wanted it by her bed, whatever it's her room so I put it there.
DIY Delight or Disaster, I love the vinyl (faux leather not sticky stuff) backing most it's not bad lets say delight.
Thanks for reading,
Mel xo
Very nice, Mel :-) Love it !
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect accessory for your daughter's bedroom ( again I'm loving that color )
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a delight!

Absolutely a delight! Very cute :)
ReplyDeleteI most definitely think it'a a delight! She has got to be loving that new room!
ReplyDeleteI'm really loving the green Mel! It looks great!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, with a nice "girlie" feeling - and for only pennies! Amazing what can be recycled when someone has an eye for what a single coat of paint can do for an ordinary discard.
ReplyDeleteI have often made myself rules about not buying a single new item until I've used up what I've already got - this applies to quilt fabric mostly! - but I find myself cheating after a short time. Hope your will power lasts longer than mine does!
Very delightful, love all the elements together and the green is such a fresh colour! xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a delight! Imagine is a perfect title for a "girlie board" and I'm sure Elizabeth will have fun using it!
ReplyDeleteShe is going to love filling that up with whatever strikes her fancy. Good job not buying anything new until you've used what you got.
ReplyDeleteSounds like she's got an idea of how she wants her room laid out and i think that's awesome that you are letting her decide. The frame has a whole new look. Love it!!
ReplyDeleteLove it- what a creative way to incorporate chalk board and message board. I may have to steal this idea, once I get back to projects....
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a delight! Your daughter's room is going to be so nice! I'm sure she's loving the more grown up space...:)
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Vicky
Oh WOW! I love the transformation. I'm even more impressed though, that you have banned yourself from buying more, until you've used what you've got. I need to take that approach. This turned out great!
ReplyDeleteLove it and the colour is just beautiful. You're inspiring me to get started on my daughter bedrooms. Now to start collecting ideas, can't wait to see what else you're going to do.
ReplyDeleteI just love that green that you have chosen! It really is a happy color! This is definitely a delight Mel. It looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteAre those chalk tags? I like it, the green frame is pretty. Delight.
ReplyDeleteI love it girl! She is so getting her pops of green!
ReplyDeleteAre those Chalk Boards also? You're the best mom!
See now I NEVER would have seen beyond what was already inside the frame. I totally envy that! It turned out incredibly well!
ReplyDeleteA big dee-light!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job Mel. Delight for sure!!!
