The Candy Cane Bracelet

Last year I went a little crazy with my "Silly Season" accessories. Like this one, but this year I wanted to keep it a little more subtle. Also if you aren't from here the Silly Season is what we call the lead up to the holidays, Summer starts, School ends and it is party town all over the country.

So I came up with The Candy Cane Bracelet, wire wrap bracelets are simply thread and go they are the simplest bracelets to make. Elizabeth, my 11 year old, can knock one of these out on her own in about 25 minutes with no help.

I simply made a loop, then alternated the pearls and the wooden beads in groups of 5 and intermittently placed the angle wings which you can get from Wholeport here then I finished it off with the pretty little tree charm also from Wholeport here

I have to say looking at the one from last year to this year my jewellery making has improved...what was I thinking!!!

So do you wear Christmas accessories?

Thanks for reading,

Mel xo

  2. Super cute! I don't wear a lot of jewelry so this would be over the top for me. It does inspire me though, maybe something more earthy in color?

  9. That's lovely. not too silly but just festive enough.
I have earring with reindeer and jingle bells which I wear every Christmas even though they make my ears hurt a bit after a couple of hours- that's dedication!

    1. Why has the computer put a link where I put (now I don't want to put it again) a reference to bells that jingle??? I'm sorry I have no idea what that is, it wasn't me. Sometimes computers are very confusing - it's almost like they have minds of there own - isn't there a film about that!!!

  13. Silly Season sounds like a lot of fun. I'll bet you don't have to stick with just "snow white" and "Christmas red". How long do the kids get a break from school? Your bracelet is too cute, and I love last year's project, as well.

  17. That's so pretty. Do you think it would work with antique pearls? I've got a bunch from my great-grandmothers that need to be restrung.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, between housework and 5 kids, this is the only thing I get out of bed for ;)
