I love wreaths, but my first and only attempt, until now was a huge disaster, sadly for you guys it was pre blogging and I don't have any pictures but here is what Jule's said upon seeing it, "that's great, ummm is it a steering wheel cover?" which was a lot nicer than the bellows of laughter from my boys. Seriously lucky they didn't get coal that year. But I decided to try a mini version.
I grabbed some curtain rings I had lying around and various wools and ribbons in red and white, which you may have guess are my Christmas colours this year.
Not really keen on this one, who knew you could make a mess of yarn wrapping???
But I added a few tiny little ribbon roses, mate they were a pain to make and I have the glue gun scars to prove it.
This ribbon wrapped one is my favourite simple but stunning, there's that self praise we all adore.
There they all are ready, for hanging.
DIY Delight or Disaster? Well the yarn one is kind of crap but I like the other two and as Meatloaf told us, 2 out 3 aint bad!
Thanks for reading,
Mel xo

ReplyDeleteThese are so good Mel. I love the ribbon one with the bow on it. I wish I had some curtain rings, pinning this and I might do it next year as I'm struggling getting this years decorations finished. Liking your colour combination.
ReplyDeleteLove them, Mel ! The curtain rings are just the right size as well :-)
ReplyDeleteSUPER Cute.. YOU have the best ideas my friend. LOVE LOVE LOVE EM
ReplyDeleteThose are adorable. I am not a wreath maker but in mini form I think I could be. They are just so precious.

ReplyDeleteI love all of them including the yarn wreath! It is perfect, as they all are!
ReplyDeleteI've had my fair share of oops wreaths, but you hit it out of the park with these mini wreaths. Love um!
ReplyDeleteI think they are all adorable- I like the striped one best and may just give this a try with some napkin rings. I really wish you hadn't put that song in my head, though- I always found it kind of depressing. :P
ReplyDeleteI don't think the yarn one is crap, I think they're all sweet. I think we should all show off our burn scars from crafting. :) Show the fellas how tough we really are.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think the yarn one was bad. The striped one is my fave. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm off to check right now of I have any curtain rings lying somewhere!
ReplyDeleteLove 'em and I have some curtain rings! Thanks for the inspiration.

ReplyDeleteWhat would we do without comments from the peanut gallery (family members)? Very adorable, Mel and a cute ornament idea for sure! I think the striped one is my fav, but they all turned out lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh these are such an awesome idea! I think I might have to make some! Definitely pinning this! :)
ReplyDeleteThe best part of this is the "mini" version wreaths are so much less intimidating to us homemade wreath challenged people. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou clever clever lady you! These are brilliant. Yet another "why didn't I think of that!"
ReplyDeleteLMBO about the steering wheel line! These are cute and I love the red and white ribbon wrapped one the mostest! I fear i will not be doing any decorating for Christmas this year girl!
ReplyDeleteThese are so adorable, Mel! :)
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome Mel! I made a bunch of these last year with green cording and glitter, and will be making more this year. They're great on gifts and also on the tree of course. There are so many things that can be made with curtain rings. Great job?
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute! And i remember you telling me the steering wheel story...classic!!
