This is Me - Me Time

Hey Guys,

I'm joining the lovely Amy from While Wearing Heels again this month for the year of self portraits (even though I missed the last two months, (Sorry Amy) and the theme is Me Time.

So the things I do when I have a few moments to myself as follows

A cup of tea..I like them hot, sadly this doesn't happen much throughout the day!

My weekend wine...mmmmm wine!

Playing with my power tools and wondering what the heck I'm doing!

Crafting and when I know no ones around I like to pretend I'm one of Charlies Angels and now I have my fab new wall I can really pose.....can't believe I photographed it!

Glitter Washer Earrings

Morning guys,

Remember my glitter bracelet? Well using the same idea I made a set of matching earrings. Loving them!

I pretty much followed my Bracelet tutorial but only made one hole per washer and added the earring findings.

I love them like my bracelet so DIY delight for sure.

Monsters, Aliens and Yarn Art

Morning All.

It's about that time...a DISASTER!

So on my many hours spent pinteresting I kept coming across all these lovely decorative yarn art projects and I really wanted to incorporate some into my craft room decor.

So I grabbed some yarn from the stash a polystyrene ball and some knitting needles.

Loved the idea of the needles in the ball of yarn

Hot glued and wrapped the yarn around the ball

.

I was so thrilled with this simple project but wanted to bling it up a bit and add some detail to the needles....and I thought ooh pretty

Then Jules came home and I saw it, he says "ooh something for the kids room?" I said "what do you mean?", he says "isn't it one of the little monsters from Sesame Street." Highly offended I replied "No, it's yarn art, it's a ball of wool with knitting needles in it."

At this point Samuel the eldest child comes in and says "Cool an Alien!"

DIY Delight or Disaster? Well simply put, now all I see is this little monster/alien thing staring at me and it's creeping me out...back to the drawing board!

So what do you think, art or do you see a funny looking monster...don't worry I think it's hilarious now I certainly won't be offended! Where did I go so wrong??

Flower Hooks

Hi All,

So while I was cleaning down the wall, I had to remove the spice rack I had been using and it fell off the wall and shattered into a million bits. However the top was okay and it just looked so nice I decided that I would keep it. There it sat taunting me, because I couldn't figure out how I was going to use it.

Then when I made my quilting and knitting organizer I needed some where to hang them, enter the remains spice rack.

So I spray painted her and added the vinyl and a few hooks.

And because everything must be decorated to within an inch of it's life, added the flowers.

But doesn't she look pretty!

So DIY Delight or Disaster, I'm delighted, although I am started to notice I am having a real thing for red at the moment. Which surprises me because I have always been all about the pink.

The Great Wall of......

The Craft Room!

You know that moment when you realise that you truly have done something amazing! Well this wall is it for me, I am serious when I say lovingly gazed upon it's beauty more than once a day since I did it. It's currently my favorite DIY project to date!

So here's the ugly old wall and so far I have white walled each room, but I wanted to try and push myself a bit. I had the beadboard wall paper, used in the kids room and my faux beadboard boxes. I told Julian my plan he wasn't convinced! (Hence why it's in the craft room)

I was a bit sick of plain white walls and wanted some colour but because of the poor lighting it would need to be in small doses. I chose red polka dot contact paper and put it at the top of the wall.

Then I spent an hour making my own DIY wall paper paste which cost nothing to make but I was in such a rush I don't know where I got it from. I do remember my arms hurt like nothing else, from whisking it though!

Then a bit of molding trim I cut and painted it white. Oh yeah and I did right first time Suck on that Bob The Builder!!!

DIY Delight or Disaster? I am not kidding when I say I love this wall. I know it's really hard to see why from a photo but this wall in the flesh, it is beautiful. Every time I have tried to describe what I am doing I got the screwed up face. When Julian saw it finished he loved it. My Dad said "Brilliant!" and my Mum was impressed. None of them had looked convinced when I told them my plan. It truly is beautiful and to date it is my favorite project!

Okay what's your verdict, if you hate it well.....I still love it!!!!

Tape..but it's not Washi!

Hey Guys,

So the good folk at Wholeport sent me another fun package this month with a few tapes to try out. Now this tape is not washi tape but printed sticky tape. It has a glossy feel and finish. I am sure you all now how to stick on tape so rather than a tutorial I thought I'd show you a few of the things I made using the tape.

Cuppa on the go anyone? I love this isn't she pretty and getting quite a workout too!

A pretty wipes container for my friend who has recently had a little girl, personalized of course!

A quick trash chic project, a drinks carrier for Miss Elizabeth to put her various bits and bobs in.

Then I covered one of those ikea book shelves for the craft room, you know how I love to have a project I can change out easily.

And full of a few of my favorite things.

Wholeport has a lovely range of tapes, you could also use them for their intended purpose pretty gift wrapping ideas. I seriously just love this stuff go and check them out here!
