Crib Upcycle

Don't you love when people look at you as you grab "rubbish" from the side of the road? I wish they could all see the finished project and know I am not mad, then again, they might start picking at the hard rubbish and that wouldn't do! I rescued (insert Jule's eye roll) 2 cot or crib as you may call them sides.

Here's why I get the eye roll, I took them and put them in the garage, much to Julian's horror there I left them. I knew I wanted to do something but what?

So (two years later) I was poking about in the garage and saw it there and decided a couple of coats of paint would do the trick and screwed it to the wall in the craft room.

I was looking for some little buckets but then I found these square ones which I like better, I put dots on them to match the other polka dot things but they just looked like they had a case of the measles.

So I put chalk board labels on them, although for some reason haven't got around to writing on them.

DIY Delight or Disaster? I see that eye roll and raise an organizing centre for my craft room, which I love, Delight!

Thanks for reading,

Mel xo

  1. Love it ! I want something similar to hang towels in the main bathroom {shower room actually} ..lol - Dimitri spotted some old tires in the yard where I stash my junk and asked where I got it from .. so, I told him from the roadside and much to his horror, I also told him, that I've used his car {haha..he's worried someone who knows him might have seen his mom picking up dump yard scrap <--- his words!}

  5. I love the chalkboard labels, Mel! So it's a DELIGHT! Anything with chalkboard is very trendy right now. Now, if you would just actually write on the labels so you know what's suppose to be in the containers . . .

  18. Delight! I plucked one of these rails off the side of the road just this afternoon. They are lovely for all kinds of racks and organizers. Great job, Mel. No eye roll here.
