So these aren't a new idea by any stretch, in fact I remember making these many moons ago, but when Julian got annoyed because I threw out all the ugly business magnets and he could never find what he was looking for he asked could I pretty please buy some beauty approved magnets for the fridge.
Buy, please doesn't he know I diy everything by now!
So here's how I made mine, i doubt it's too different to the others out there but here goes.
Supplies:
- Mod Podge
- Glass Pebbles
- Scrapbook Paper
- Hot glue/gun
- Magnets
- Paper punch
1. Punch the paper
Prettiness!
DIY Delight or Disaster? umm this is child's play but a delight

Sounds like your hubby is one smart man to offer a compromise. :) I love the paper patterns you chose.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute...and now I have pink glue gun envy. :)
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty! The colors really stand out. The cupcake is my favorite lol.. I am in desperate need of some new frudge magnets too. I should really make some of these up. The turnout is so cute. Great job Mel!
ReplyDeleteI love these magnets. And I agree, only pretty magnets allowed if you ask me. I hate those business ones...except for the ones that have clips on them...those I like.
ReplyDeleteThese are really pretty, Mel! Love them :-)
ReplyDeleteGrace would love this project. She collects those glass beads. I wonder if she would share them with me so I could make a few. Finally, your fridge has some pretty magnets :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a great project idea, Mel! That paper you chose is so pretty too.
ReplyDeleteYay, another pretty idea to nick off you!!! Ha ha, I make everything too - my motto is 'why buy, when you can make'
ReplyDeleteHugs, E xx
I need some modge podge! These are gorgeous. I saved some of those real estate calender magnet things at the start of the year to do something pretty with. I love all your little projects. I need to start diying haha
ReplyDeleteThose are just the prettiest magnets - EVER! Love the paper choice - so pretty in pink! Pinning!

I have a bag of those glass pebbles waiting for me to glue something on them. I never thought of adding magnets to the back. Now I'm thinking pics of the grand kids would be cute to hang their artwork on the fridge. Good idea? I'm pinning!
ReplyDeleteThose are so pretty. I've been meaning to try these marble magnets, but haven't ever tried. Did you happen to already own the paper punch that would fit these marbles?
ReplyDeleteThose are cute cute! We need some new magnets. Great job Mel!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a delight! I love these! Need to find a bit of time in my future to make a few of these.

Beauty-approved magnets! I'm LMAO!! I took all of those business card ones Sam collected and covered them with pretty paper. He was not impressed. These are a delight, even if it was child's play Mel!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Mel. You may not have done it first, but you sure did it best!!
ReplyDeleteHuge delight! I love it. :)
ReplyDeleteSo so pretty Mel. I have these supplies ready to go just havnt gotten around to make them - now you have inspired me. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteReally pretty Mel! Love the colours!
ReplyDeleteDid anyone have any issues with the magnet peeling away from the paper? Maybe I didn't let the Modpodge dry completely before attaching it. Maybe hot glue isn't the way to go? Maybe it's the kind of paper I used (origami washi type paper)...any insight?
ReplyDeleteHi Eva,
DeleteI used scrap book paper the thicker kind. and I did use hot glue. The kids dropped two onto the tiles and they broke off but the others have been fine. E6000 might be better for you
