Pretty Magnets

So these aren't a new idea by any stretch, in fact I remember making these many moons ago, but when Julian got annoyed because I threw out all the ugly business magnets and he could never find what he was looking for he asked could I pretty please buy some beauty approved magnets for the fridge.

Buy, please doesn't he know I diy everything by now!

So here's how I made mine, i doubt it's too different to the others out there but here goes.

Supplies:
  • Mod Podge
  • Glass Pebbles
  • Scrapbook Paper
  • Hot glue/gun
  • Magnets
  • Paper punch

1. Punch the paper

2. Mod podge to glass pebble and attach magnet

Prettiness!

DIY Delight or Disaster? umm this is child's play but a delight

  4. I love these magnets. And I agree, only pretty magnets allowed if you ask me. I hate those business ones...except for the ones that have clips on them...those I like.

  6. Grace would love this project. She collects those glass beads. I wonder if she would share them with me so I could make a few. Finally, your fridge has some pretty magnets :)

  15. I have a bag of those glass pebbles waiting for me to glue something on them. I never thought of adding magnets to the back. Now I'm thinking pics of the grand kids would be cute to hang their artwork on the fridge. Good idea? I'm pinning!

  16. Those are so pretty. I've been meaning to try these marble magnets, but haven't ever tried. Did you happen to already own the paper punch that would fit these marbles?

  19. Beauty-approved magnets! I'm LMAO!! I took all of those business card ones Sam collected and covered them with pretty paper. He was not impressed. These are a delight, even if it was child's play Mel!

  22. Did anyone have any issues with the magnet peeling away from the paper? Maybe I didn't let the Modpodge dry completely before attaching it. Maybe hot glue isn't the way to go? Maybe it's the kind of paper I used (origami washi type paper)...any insight?

    1. Hi Eva,

I used scrap book paper the thicker kind. and I did use hot glue. The kids dropped two onto the tiles and they broke off but the others have been fine. E6000 might be better for you

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, between housework and 5 kids, this is the only thing I get out of bed for ;)
