No Glue Tile Coasters, 10 Minutes No Drying Time!

That's right NO GLUE tile coasters, feeling like a bit of a genius right now..a lazy one but a genius nonetheless!

Anyway so after my whine fest last week I took a dose of concrete and harden the hell up and told myself just to go and try something. I love all those tile coasters all over pinterest but I read you have to wait a month for them to cure before you can use them...A MONTH!! Seriously who's got time for that? Not me so I have made some that are ready as soon as you're finished and they only take 10 minutes to make, here's how.

Supplies:

Run your paper through the sticker maker.

It's laminated on one side and permanent adhesive on the other side.

Stick on the tile and trim the edges.

Save the left over for another fun idea tomorrow.

10 minutes later cool new tiles that can be used right away, they can also be wiped clean immediately too.

DIY Delight or Disaster? This was just what I needed to get my mojo happening bright and funky but quick and easy. There is practically no room for error, Elizabeth who is 12 can make these with no supervision.

Thanks for reading,

Mel xo

  2. Oh I was delighted to finally see these!! I love them Mel and you are tempting me with that Xyron again. I think it may have to be my first addition to my new craft room. I love that they can be wiped clean too. I'm with Linda.....what are you going to do with them???

  3. What a terrific idea using your Xyron! Beautiful results! However, I must be an idiot in using mine. You say a twelve year old has no problem using one? Well, I've made such a mess in running paper through that I wanted to post on a bulletin board. The clear paper has wrapped itself around the black roller and appears to be stuck. Don't know what I'm doing but I did manage to roll out what I wanted. The worst part is I really don't feel like looking at it now to find out what I need to do to untangle it. Maybe later. Gadgets!!!

    1. Mel, I hope I haven't deterred anyone from wanting a Xyron. It is a fabulous machine - I just don't have any patience when little hiccups occur when using gadgets. I was able to easily remove the clear paper that wrapped around the roller and now my Xyron is working as it should. I'm currently working on a craft/jewelery project where I include using the Xyron to make a stick-on pattern that I need to cut out. My apologies to you if I gave off a negative feeling about the Xyron.

  6. A month is a long time to wait. These are fun! And def. great that you can use them right away. The coaster set we have right now has pictures (family photos) but it would be nice to have festive ones like these around the house too!

  9. What a cool idea! I'm in NEED of some coasters. My coasters always stick to my glass, I end up slinging it across the room when I pick my cup up to drink or it clanks back down on the table... you didn't know someone could have so many coaster problems did you?? I love this idea! I need to check out one of these crafty machines!

  12. I'm still wanting one of those sticker makers! I can't imagine doing coaster that take a month. That's way too much commitment for me. These look great and if Elizabeth can do it, so can I.

  14. Like idea. The way it's presented is somewhat confusing. You run it thru the sticker first and then put in the laminate roll. That way it has more stability
when peeling of the adhesive.. Love all my Xyron's/

    1. Hi Karleen, I used the the xyron only I ran the paper through using the laminate/adhesive roll as mentioned in the supplies it laminates the top of the paper and makes the back sticky. I have a link to amazon in the supplies section if you want to know more about the product. Mel xo
